Organic AAA Ceremonial Matcha – Uji, Japan

The highest grade of Matcha we have sourced, first-harvest, organic ceremonial Matcha from Uji, Japan, produced by a tea-making family whose heritage stretches back more than 200 years.

We wanted our Matcha to represent the very best quality we could offer. Rather than sourcing an everyday green tea powder, we chose an exceptional ceremonial Matcha from Uji, one of Japan's most celebrated and historic tea-growing regions.

Our Matcha comes through a Japanese family producer with more than 200 years of tea heritage, where generations of knowledge sit behind the Matcha we source today.

Made from carefully selected, shade-grown, first-harvest tea leaves and traditionally stone-ground into an exceptionally fine powder, the result is a Matcha with a striking vibrant green colour, beautifully smooth character, gentle natural sweetness and deep umami finish.

Our producer designates this Matcha as AAA ceremonial grade — their designation for its position within their premium Matcha range.

Why our Uji Matcha?

  • Over 200 Years of Tea Heritage — sourced through a historic family producer
  • Miron Violet Glass Packaging — premium light-protective glass chosen to help preserve the quality of our Matcha
  • Certified Organic
  • Traditionally Stone-Ground

THE GLASS MATTERS

WHY MIRON VIOLET GLASS?

Exceptional Matcha deserves thoughtful packaging. We chose Miron violet glass for our Matcha rather than ordinary clear glass or plastic, helping to reduce its exposure to visible light while creating a reusable container worthy of the tea inside.

Matcha is particularly valued for its vibrant colour, delicate aroma and distinctive character, so how it is stored matters. The deeply coloured violet glass provides a protective environment between uses.

Ceremonial matcha is a finely ground Japanese green tea traditionally intended to be whisked with water and enjoyed as a drink. It is generally selected for its fine texture, vibrant colour and smooth, balanced flavour.

Our organic ceremonial matcha is sourced from Uji, Japan, one of the country’s most respected tea-producing regions.

AAA Grade is the quality designation used by our Japanese supplier for this matcha within its own range. Matcha does not have one universal AAA grading standard, so we use the term specifically as our supplier’s designation.

Yes. It is certified organic and contains only pure organic matcha powder, with no added flavours, sweeteners or fillers.

Yes. It can be prepared traditionally with water or used for matcha lattes, smoothies, overnight oats and recipes. For a latte, you may prefer to use closer to 2g for a fuller flavour.

We use Miron violet glass to help shield the matcha from visible light and maintain its colour, aroma and freshness after opening. The jar is also reusable.

A 40g jar provides approximately 20–40 servings. A lighter traditional serving may use around 1g, while a stronger bowl or matcha latte may use closer to 2g.
